Sometimes, a single taste is enough to take us back to a place, a person or a moment we never want to forget. The story of The Samosa Factory began with that very feeling. Our journey started in Nuwara Eliya, not with a shop or a large kitchen, but with a simple food cart and a love for good food. What began as a small family-driven idea slowly became a dream — to take the food we loved and share it with more people. From the cool hills of Nuwara Eliya, our journey brought us to Colombo, where the little food cart evolved into a proper food business and eventually into a store. Along the way, we learned that while a business can grow in size, its heart must never change.
At the centre of our business is something very personal - family food.
We come from a family where food is prepared with care, where recipes are made because we genuinely love eating them ourselves. We believe that the food we are proud to serve our own family should be good enough to share with everyone else. That became one of the principles behind The Samosa Factory: If we would serve it to our family, we should be proud to serve it to our customers. This belief influences everything we do — from the ingredients we select and the way we prepare our fillings, to the freshness, taste and quality of every product that leaves our kitchen.
The Samosa Journey.
The Samosa Factory officially began its journey in December 2024, starting with just four varieties of samosas. From those humble beginnings, the response from customers encouraged us to keep growing. New flavours and products followed, and what began as a small idea gradually developed into a growing food brand. But even as the menu and the business expanded, our purpose remained simple: Good food. Good taste. Good quality. Made with care.
Our mission is not simply to sell samosas.
It is to share the taste and quality of food that we love with others. We want every customer to experience the same feeling we have when we sit down with food made by someone who genuinely cares about what they are cooking.
